Wine has overshadowed every part of my day-to-day Engraving.
Today, one Texas chain asked for 26 events. I only had 22 of their requested dates available. Those 22 are in addition to the already booked events for the spirits suppliers and the many more to be booked for the rest of the year. I expect those to come in the next week or so.
In 1992, when I got my first Engraving system from Paragrave…now PROFITABLE HOBBIES…one of the first things I scratched around on was a wine bottle from the rack in our home bar. I did dozens and dozens of bottles that first year. Many were gifts. Many of those resulted in paid orders once people saw the magic of personalized wine and spirits bottles.
It has come a lonnnnng way since that beginning.
With 9 years experience in the trenches, doing events of all kinds, primarily fragrances, ESTEE LAUDER Corp in New York called me in 2001 and asked, “Where are the other Ken Browns?” By the time of their call, it had become obvious that where my fragrance Engraving events were being held, their sales were dramatically increased. They saw a pattern. ESTEE LAUDER asked me to create a teaching system where I could share my well-honed skill, teaching others who could fill seats in other stores. I did that. In almost 12 years just over 200 people have come through my Seminar. Many are out there doing events exactly like I am. Most are fragrance events, some are wine.
In the past 7 years, the enormous fragrance business I did between 1993 and 2005 has morphed into a much larger business dealing with the wine and spirits folks. They cannot seem to get enough. That’s because their customers are so pleased with the free service the retailers offer. Customers buy the bottles. I engrave their purchases FREE. The store OR the wine suppliers pay me. Great for the customers, the stores, and the suppliers. Win! Win! Win!
We still have 7 seats available in May 18, 19, & 20. For anyone interested in learning the wine bottle engraving business, this is a great time. June is a big month, then it begins grows toward Christmas. You need NO EQUIPMENT other than your own hand piece (drill) for the Seminar. Call and we’ll also tailor a price and arrangement that will work for the July session on 19, 20, & 21 if that fits your schedule better.
Remember, wine is far more consumable than fragrance. Wine is sold in most places. You won’t have to go far to find venues. The Seminar will fill in all the blanks and I’ll teach you how to engrave wine bottles! And that will relate to engraving everything else.

P.S. At a bare-bones minimum students begin at $75. per hour for an 8 hour event. Many set their starting fee at $100. per hour. Several of the more aggressive and accomplished students have begun their event fee at $1000. per day….$125. per hour. Real as rain. How many people do you know aside from plumbers, attorneys, and doctors that earn in that range?

Fabulous Ken! You are a very hard worker and that pays off!!
WAY TO GO, KEN!! you not only have the talent, you have the talent of whom to know!;-0
Should be a great year for you. Hugs to Gail.
Wow, Ken that’s amazing. What I learned by attending your seminar and completing your certification last year has really paid off for me. Things are getting busy here too. Hope to get as busy as you are some day. Thanks for all that you do for us.
