One of my friends in the wine business is a rep for BOGEL Wines. He brought me a 3 liter PHANTOM wine to be engraved for a family friend’s 50th birthday. Lisa, the rep’s sister came from Denver to pick up the bottle and take to a party somewhere in Texas.
There was a Canada /Texas connection somehow so he asked if I could engrave the outline of a maple leaf and Texas. I asked him if a crow is black. With a bit of mylar, a steady hand, and 5 minutes, I carefully put those images on the bottle with the hand-engraved message.
The lettering was done with a trusty #6 round carbide in a NSK Presto handpick. The Calligraphy was filled with Antique Gold Rub ‘N Buff. Total time: 32 minutes. It’ll take a little longer than that to drink this one.
My handy little brochure/business card hangs around the neck of the bottle. Amazingly, If I’m not mistaken, I’m engraving a regular size bottle of Phantom in the wine poster photo, where I’m peeking up just under her left hand.
Oh yes, my business card is new. Send me a self-addressed, stamped envelope and I’ll send you one with some of the stats it took to produce it. Created totally on my iMac and with a trusty commercial printing firm handling the reproductions and folding.
Send your SASE to me at P.O. Box 22, McKinney, TX, 75070
Cheers!
