When I’m working in the stores doing wine, it’s funny how many people stop and ask me, half-seriously, if I do tattoos. My answer is that I cannot stand the sight of blood. So far nobody’s encouraged me to try, and just as well. However, I do notice skin art, especially when letters are present. I’ve seen some designs that are just amazing. This is not one of them but I wanted to take a closer look and share some comments.
Saw this on Pinterest or somewhere not long ago and grabbed a screen shot. Either this back was not a very good canvas or the artist was a bit green. Probably both. First, the layout, line spacing, and centering are quite good. I even like the squigglies at the bottom. The scrolls on the descenders of the Y and g are the artist’s attempts to fancy it up a bit. The word ‘wish’ must have been tattooed over a mole or an ugly wart. Camouflaging it may have been in the plan, but the word is barely readable.
Clear to me the final word is to be ‘world’ but the r is lost between the o and the d which was supposed to be an l. Errors in skin are somewhat more of an issue than flubbing a twenty-dollar bottle of hooch.
Bottom line: I love the message, though the presentation is lousy and probably a disappointment for the wearer of this lifetime billboard.

Oh yes….skin is not on the list of projects in the upcoming Professional Engraving Workshops, but a BandAid is a good idea to have tucked in your toolbox in case a finger gets in the way.
Cheers!

Oh come on Ken! You just need Lew Jensen’s counterpart in the tattoo world to nudge you by giving you the tool to tattoo! Haha! Tattoos are quite popular these days, though I can’t believe people do this to their bodies.
