Hello Ken, I enjoy reading your newsletters. Thanks for writing them. While reading this one, you were saying the problems you have on those bright metal hats that lady brings you on her children’s 50th birthdays. While reading that I had a ( as Jimmy Newtron would say ) Brain Blast ! If you had everything set up and ready to go and than put the metal in the freezer for a time, would that be enough to keep the burs cooled down and the metal hat or whatever other soft metal from getting hot and let the job go easier? I’m sure you already thought of that and maybe even tried it, but, I was just wondering what your outcome was if you did try it. Thanks, Jerry.

Jerry, even the coldest metal would heat up quickly with the friction of that 300,000 rpm drill chewing through it. Just the nature of soft metal and fast burs!
