An essay written by my brother, Michael, in 1972. He won a medal from Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge, PA, for his entry in the competition that year. I hand-lettered the text and my wife, Gail, did the watercolor illustration of the eagle and flag. We honor those Veterans who have kept us free, and those who continue to do so. GOD BLESS AMERICA!
KEN, ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! It must have taken you hours (which probably seemed like minutes because you were performing a labor of love.) Please forward this to Charles every Memorial Day so he can make sure we all are reminded of the tremendous sacrifice our freedom, flag, and heritage have (and continue to) cost us. Thanks, Ken, for a beautiful job . . . and my congratulations to your brother for expressing everyone’s feelings so magnificently! Best wishes, and while I can’t make the reunion, you are all in my thoughts and prayers,
Hi Jon…..Great to hear from you and appreciate the kind words. Would love to see you in Hugo in June for the reunion!
